Pickin' Out Cows

A couple weekends ago we went to the Gerloff Cattle Sale and picked out a couple cows to bring home with us. Luke does the nutrition work for this farm and we were really pleased with the cattle we bought there last year, so we came back for a second year. Molly had fun looking at all the cows and then spent most of the afternoon playing in the dirt or with the ice in the coolers. Grandma Debbie went with us and was so much help entertaining Molly! Luke is going back down there this week to pick up our new cows and bring them home. Hopefully they will fit with our herd & be a great new addition.
Looking at the pen of heifers from a safe distance.
Molly liked the little calves the best--just her size!
Molly is definitely a country girl-"cow" was one of the first words she said! Guess she gets that from both her Mom & Dad!

Berry Special Birthday

Happy 80TH birthday to Grandma Thelma today! We got to spend some time with her this past weekend and had a birthday lunch on Sunday. I can only hope that I am as active and in as good of health when I am 80 (it will be the year 2063)!!

Running Fast

Molly's new fun thing to do is run up and down the hallway as fast as she can. She thinks she is SO fast!

Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

Last week we had the chance to stop by a pumpkin patch just a few miles outside of Kirksville. It was such a cold windy afternoon that we didn't spend much time, but it was really fun! Molly would walk from pumpkin to pumpkin and smack each one before moving on.

A little help from Daddy. The vines were tripping her up.

Looks like a good one.

On the way home--SO tired!

NASCAR...quite the deal.

Luke was lucky enough to be given 2 2-day passes to the NASCAR race at Kansas Speedway a couple weeks ago. Us, not being NASCAR fans, thought it would be fun to check it out--and it's free, so why not! We also got to stay at the Ameristar Casino for the night-so it was worth going just for that! Let's just say NASCAR is quite the experience. I have never seen such devoted fans. It was hot, loud & smelled of burning rubber & gas, but nobody really seemed to mind. For us, it got a little old, but we did enjoy it.

The first day. We were a little bored after the however-many lap.

We had track passes, which meant we could go down on the infield before the race and check out the cars.
Working on becoming a "true" race fan-haha!

Before the race, they introduce the drivers and they ride around the track in the back of hummers. This was Carl Edwards #99 (from Columbia, MO)
Jimmie Johnson ended up winning and he really whooped up-pretty much the entire race. Carl Edwards got 5th I believe.

Shippin' Her Off

That's it...we're boxing her up and shipping her out! Off to stay with Grandma Debbie while Mom & Dad spend the weekend in Kansas City. Good luck Grandma!
